Edmunds.com published data revealing approximately 211,600 Americans purchased new station wagons in 2018. This is a 29% increase in station wagon sales from 2013.

As summarized by Karl Brauer, executive publisher for Autotrader and Kelly Blue Book, “the winner in the death of the car is the station wagon.”

Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Too

Crossover SUVs have dominated the American market for a variety of reasons. While the looks of a station wagon may be vastly different from those of a crossover SUV, its capabilities are similar. An example of this is Buick’s Regal TourX.

The TourX boasts a 2.0L turbocharged engine that produces 250 HP and 295 lb-ft of torque. It’s cargo capacity is 73.5 cubic feet, giving you plenty of space for hauling with your wagon. It is also equipped with Buick’s intelligent all-wheel-drive system and 18″ wheels, making the TourX capable of tackling whatever roads may lie ahead.

Interior

The TourX has available leather interior, heated front seats, heated steering wheel and ambient lighting. Each of these features adds to the already luxurious and comfortable cabin of the TourX. It is also constructed with Buick’s QuietTuning technology, making for a comfortable and silent ride. The TourX, like most new Buick models, is also equipped with an air ionizer, which freshens cabin air by reducing pollen, dust and debris.

The TourX comes standard with a 60/40 split backseat. However, the available 40/20/40 split backseat provides buyers with even more versatile seating and cargo options. You can configure the area to haul things like skis and snowboards, plus passengers, or you can fold down all the seats to fit an average sized adult bike.

Technology

The TourX is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible. Also, the infotainment system includes Bluetooth connectivity, personal profiles and available Navigation. A wireless charging pocket is also available on the TourX to conveniently power your smartphones.

Safety

There are many advanced safety features available on the TourX. These features include front pedestrian braking; forward collision alert and automatic braking; rear cross-traffic alert; blind zone alert; and lane keep assist with lane departure warning.
